Congratulations to Ry Griffen, Chad Cohenour and Melissa Beasley who were all inducted into Florence Rotary last Monday. We look forward to inducting Susan Robinson next Monday.
NEW PROPOSALS:
Jon Nevins proposes Gene Tackett for membership. Gene is retired from TVA as an Instrument Tech. He is currently working with Parker Griffith as Campaign Coordinator. He has served on the Park and Recreation Board in Tuscumbia, the executive board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and with Safeplace and the United Way of the Shoals. He was also an Alabama Jaycee, has been involved with Community Partnership on Education, the Governor's Youth Workforce Council and the Shoals Economic Development Authority. Gene and his wife Gloria attend Valley Baptist Church where he was Sunday School Director for fourteen years. Gloria and Gene have five children.
Jean Bock proposes Cynthia Briand, whose late husband was our beloved Bill Briand. Cynthia is the director of the ECM Charitable Fund (for ECM Hospital). She serves or has served on the Board of the American Red Cross, the YMCA of the Shoals and the University of Alabama Alumni Association. She served the hospital as Patient Representative and Director of Community Relations for 22 years, and has served as an elder and youth leader in her church. Cynthia is the daughter and step-daughter of Rotarians Howard (Bud) Booream and Wilf Doss, respectively, so she has a rich Rotarian background. She has one son, John Woodward.
